Icon Tutorial 1

This is a very simple icon tutorial to go from:  
>>  
 
1. Crop your image, then sharpen once. Filter >> Sharpen >> Sharpen.

2. Duplicate this layer. Make sure you have this second layer selected, now go to Image >> Adjustments >> Levels and change the RGB settings to this and Press OK:  
 
 
3. Duplicate the first layer (not the one you just adjusted) and move it above the second layer.  
Desaturate it: Image >> Adjustments >> Desaturate. Set it to Screen with an opacity of 33%.

4. Create a new layer and fill it with dark blue (#04306B is good). Set this layer to Exclusion, 100% opacity.

5. Create a new layer. Draw on it 3 squares of a light pink colour (#DC9E9E). Desaturate: Image >> Adjustments >> Desaturate.

6. Duplicate the squares layer and fill it with white. Offset it a few pixels to give a 3D effect.

7. Add your text. I used the Bellerose font which can be downloaded at dafont.
